What do we think about Hall closing?

A sad new, but with all the signs and symptoms before, hardly comes as surprise. Hall seems to have been struggling with both external and internal factors for a long time.

Since Hall is an important part of BFTV, I'm curious to hear what do you guys think about this? Personally I'm getting quite emotional. Not only about Hall but also about the withdrawal of Elena from the scene (if I understood her words correctly). She has been a force that pushed the scene forward, and I don't think she has passed the torch to the next generation.

Besides, together with the closure of 911 last month, this raises a question about the whole underground EDM scene/industry at large. Commercial events and social media are only getting larger, while grassroot venues closing down and people just can't seem to unite their voices anymore, how can we stay true to our…

Did Shiftwind lose his interest in techno music?

This is my first post here so I don't wanna sound negative, but Shiftwind has always been one of my favorite DJs amongst the BftV crew. I'm still listening to his old sets on YT and SC and still love his dark, cold, hypnotic, minimalistic approach to music. But the last few times (latest being the Dark Side of The Moon 23 event) his sets felt kinda lacklusting and absent-minded. He stopped posting on SC; and I just found out he's no longer listed as resident on BftV website anymore. Is it just me or he's no longer interested in techno music?

It seems that he will not reply to your question, I asked him tho... I'd like to see/hear him playing very much u know....love his style, always a step ahead from th emost of DJs...but he is a soldier, spending most of the time in woods and preparing for war or something and all weekends he is just too tired to go to the parties. I understand him...no, I don't understand the war part, but I understand that he is tired. Let's hope one day he will play with us again....fingers crossed!

Places places

Hello, could you recommend decent places to visit where decent music is played? Good beer is a plus. I have been to the BFTV parties and to the DM bar, is there anything else worth checking out in Tallinn?

Cheers.

My recommendation is Cabaret Volta next to Krulli/Kalamaja district. If you like experimental electroniks and ambient in live, that’s the best venue for such art. The place looks really unique and industrial with one wall of speakers built, heavy machinery at the corners of the room. Usually 20-50 people participate since it’s really well hidden gem :)

PS! It will be gone soon since the area is becoming ruined by hipsters and reconstructed/renewed.

Happy happy joy joy!
