Great to here your story, I'm always curious to find fans or connectors! My story has a humble beginning. I found Coil by accident! Or maybe they found me? I think Triple Sun was probably the first Coil song I ever heard and it definitely didn’t strike a chord with me at the time, in the way I thought I’d become a big fan of their work! It wasn’t until I was given a dvd around the same time with lots of files of music with no information on it! It was mainly ebm and industrial! I was just listening through casually with it in the background one day, when this dungeon synth like swipe came in with a gated kick and then snare, after that, I was all ears! The vocal appears (Circle within circle) and I knew this was something for me. It felt ancient and otherworldly which I now know is the Magick! I later ask my friend what it was and he said Coil! And Specifically, Cathedral In Flames from Scatology. I then went on a Coil bender listen to Scatology and Horse Rotorvator back to back, and I have been a fan and collector even since. I somehow preferred the early stuff for the longest of time, as that's what got me first, but through all the years, digging and researching, it all holds together for me. Coil his very dear to me and it always gives to me when I feel I'm missing something.
I can't call myself a fan, but for sure they still influence me every day...not only musick...Like somebody once said...that they don't sing or make music about magic, but they are magic(k). Wise words. I'm kind of happy that I still have many releases to explore...The first record I had....in late nineties, was The Angelic Conversation soundtrack. I still remember to listening it on acid....even if my English was poor that time, it was superb experience. My good friend Lemmy, the guy who started Beats From The Vault with me in 1998 died on new year's eve 2000....he had many Coil albums....few years later his half-brother (didn't know him before) found me and wanted to give me a lot of his CD's....including many Coil albums....sure I liked Coil back then, but they didn't mean anything so special for me....like Clock DVA for example....I was a fan back then and I'm still a fan of Adi's works....but few years ago when Dais records re-released Musick To Play In The Dark....I listened to it first time and I was blown away from that day...it means that last few years I have been kinda fan of them....but still exploring....listening to their music and reading books....they have so many mega cool books too....that's my story...Are you surrounded by things we cannot penetrate?Jhonn and Peter forever <3PS. Usually I don't regret anything...BUT...I was at WGT in Leipzig, 2004 and I missed Coil performance and I fucking had this change. It was my own fault I missed it. Fuck.
Awesome:
